Verizon And Google All Cozy In Bed

Posted October 6, 2009 by Vamien. Filed under Google, Verizon, Android, Google Voice, Parternship, Smartphones, HTC, Motorola Google and Verizon in bed together doing the dirty? Probably the most shocking piece of news in quite some time, I wasn't expecting this and I'm sure a thousand others weren't also.

Google and Verizon I remember a good while back when Verizon classed Android as virus prone and a whole lot of crap in a bid to make Android look badly in the eyes of the consumer, they said it all because the platform is open source. Months have passed since then and now Verizon has chosen to ride the Android chuu chuu train with plans to release several Android phones from many big manufactures. No idea who these Manufacturers are but i am sure HTC is one of them along with Motorola and....some others. So lets get down to what is really happening, Google and Verizon form a new partnership, Verizon will release several Android phones with Google Voice pre-installed which pretty much should seal the deal for anyone in the US looking for an Android device to go home with. Next best thing? These Android handsets are said to be running on the default Android UI, a full on Google Experience ya'll, now tell me if that isn't pure awesomeness or what.

"The nation's best wireless broadband network is a perfect complement to the innovation of Android-powered services and devices," said Lowell McAdam, chief executive officer of Verizon Wireless. "Together, we'll work to deliver a compelling new experience to our customers." "The Android platform allows Verizon Wireless customers to experience faster and easier access to the web from any location," said Eric Schmidt, chairman and chief executive officer for Google. "Through this partnership, we hope to deliver greater innovation in the mobile space to consumers across the U.S."
That's it, Google and Verizon sucking up to each other for the greater good, lets wait and see how long it will take for them to fall out. Via: [PR Newswire]
