Dell Android Phone Coming to AT&T?

According to the Wall Street Journal, Dell is thinking Android thoughts lately. The computer manufacturer has already announced an Android phone for the Chinese market, the Mini 3i but now it's reported to be working on a similar phone scheduled to arrive from AT&T at some point in the future.

Dell has tried pitching Android phones to U.S. carriers before but that didn't work that well for the company. But now it looks like AT&T has hired Dell to make an Android phone for them. The rumored phone will be fairly similar to the Mini 3i. Although there are no exact specs right now, the new device will come with a touchscreen display, a better camera, 3G and WiFi connectivity and Android OS working in the background. When will be the phone ready to hit the market? How much will it cost?

Since Dell hasn't established itself as a dependable cell phone maker yet, I'd still want an HTC Dragon instead of the Dell Mini 3i. I'd even go for the HTC Hero if the Dragon wasn't available yet. That doesn't mean Dell can't make Android phones. En contraire folks, I'd love to see them crafting a device able to successfully fight against other Android smartphones out there!
